Outstanding!.
Went there on Christmas eve and had a fantastic meal - I had the Tortelini ala panna, a friend had the victor's special and my other friend the Veal in lemon & butter sauce. Everyone was very happy with their meal. We ordered the canoli for dessert and all loved it. I understand the restaurant is in a temporary location, so currently space is a little tight - three adults were snug in a booth. But the food was outstanding and worth the squeeze. Great service too. I plan on going back tomorrow night! - really.

Amazing Food!.
I was originally born and raised in Williamsburg and can tell you that EVERY time I come back to visit I always go to Sal's by Victor. It is a community staple. I love the menu and the many choices. I tried the stuffed rigatoni last night and it was wonderful. The atmosphere would certainly not be considered romantic, but is a family atmosphere b/c it is owned by a family man. Often you can see Victor roaming about the restaurant speaking to the patrons. Don't get me wrong, I've had a couple times in my 29 years where I've wondered whom was in the kitchen, however 9 times out of 10 I walk out fat and happy :) Sun is by far the best server there. She is funny, quick, and always on the ball! I don't write reviews often, however I'd hate for someone to miss out on this place b/c of one bad experience. I've met many who drive into town just for Sal's.......

Suspicious Food.
I was taken to this restaurant by my parents after they received an ad for it in their mail. I've lived near it for a while, but never tried it. I'd heard good things about it. Unfortunately, these good things were wrong.
The ambiance was wretched -- we were seated in the back when there were plenty of seats up front, and the seating was cramped. Our waiter was slow and forgetful, and they had only one dessert item available, but brought us the menu anyway.
My main reason for even stopping to write a review, though, is that I was made very, very ill (I am apparently not allowed to specify what I am ill with by an 'inappropriate word' filter) by my dinner there. I ordered the four-cheese tortelloni, which tasted odd to begin with, and have been ill since last night. Please do not go here ... and do not take your children! I don't know if this is true of all their food, but do you really want to play Russian roulette with your child's health?
