Shockoe's version of Santa's workshop.. What to Expect
Few can resist the lure of an extravagant toy store, which is why this downtown shop attracts every kind of customer, regardless of age. Passers-by hear the siren song of toy-filled windows and quickly lose themselves in the color, the noise and the games they remember as a kid. Similar to its sister store in Williamsburg, Toymaker offers more of a toy shopping experience than other monster stores.

What to Buy
Find an old favorites, make a new discovery. Toy soldier collectors will fall in love with the store's massive selection, and everyone else will be swayed by the unique soldier display case in the middle of the floor. --Kristine Forrest
