Best Thai resturant around!. Went for dinner expecting a nice cozy quiet environment. I was NOT disappointed. Entering the resturant you are greeted by a smiling waitress and promptly seated in a cozy booth or table of your choice. Service was prompt, courteous and accurate. We ordered an appetizer of Beef Satay which was flavorful and tender. The entrees consisted of Kang Ped (a red curry with a mix of bamboo shoots, bell peppers and chicken) and Pla Saam Ros (3 flavor fish dish). They will tell you that you can order from a 1 to 3 on spicyness but will allow a 4 or 5. I ordered the 3 flavor at a 3 and the curry dish at a 4. While both were delicious and flavorful, the curry dish was well above what I would order again on spicyness. The fish dish was perfect. Both were presented well and worth the price. The average dishes were priced around 12 to 16 dollars for dinner. I would highly recommend this restuarant for any occasion. Relaxed dress attire is fine.
Bset Thai Food on the Mainland!. This is my husband's and my favortie restaurant in the continental US. Thanks to the US Navy, we've travelled quite a bit. Bangkok Garden is our "go-to" place for special occasions. The food is excellent...fresh, complex, and cooked as you order it. If they don't have your favorite Thai dish on the menu, ask! They are very accomodating. If they don't have your favorite dinner dish on the lunch menu, ask! They will do their best to accomodate your wish. The service is incomparable. The atmosphere is romantic. What more could you want?
This traditional Thai restaurant sparks culinary fireworks..
The Scene:
Traditional masks, mounted silks and porcelain urns decorate this authentic Thai restaurant, providing a peaceful atmosphere in contrast with the intense heat of Bangkok Garden's spicy food. Begin the meal with a serving of steamed spring rolls, packed with fresh, anise-scented Thai basil. The culinary pyrotechnics begin with various combinations of meat, spices and sauces known as Masman curry dishes, but thankfully the restaurant asks for individual spice preferences. The menu descriptions are unduly modest; simply-described seafood dishes belie the complex interplay between fish and sauce. Tilapia with tamarind and pineapple juice and whole fried fish with curry sauce are bite-size explosions of sweet, sour and salty flavors. If the after-dinner sweets don't tempt you, try finishing the meal with a cup of jasmine tea.
If you order one thing:
The seafood entrees are fantastic.
