Great seafood and reasonable on prices. Captain George's is a great place for a seafood buffet. They have all the seafood you can eat and at a reasonable price. They must have had a bad day for the food to be bad. I have always enjoyed the food there and recommend anyone to check it out if in Va. Beach.

Captain George's food poor quality & taste- Save your money!. I heard that Captain George's was the best on the East Coast from the tourist advisor at 19th Street in Va. Beach. I was excited to try it. I tried most of the foods and, other than the steamed crab claws, cornbread, and clam chowder, which were just okay, the food was mediocre.

The steamed clam was like chewing gum. I spit it out. The prime rib and fried scallops were tasteless. Ditto the mac and cheese. The spiced shrimp were small and did not taste fresh. The devilled crab was alot of spice but no crab taste. 8-8-10

Save your money. Compared to this, Golden Corral can really cook tasty food. I am not sure why these folks cannot. And I am a person who can even find good things about hospital food. SAVE YOUR MONEY! The service was excellent but I don't understand how people are raving about this tasteless food. How hard is it to make great mac and cheese???

Major Disappointment. For the price my family was expecting quality food. It turned out to be a major disappointment. It reminded us of very expensive cafeteria food. There was certainly quantity, but was lacking quality.

Best Seafood at the Beach. We had a terrific experience at this restaurant. I have live in this Tidewater area all my life and never had a great seafood experience like I did here. All of the food was excellent. Our waitress was great too. She was very polite, on point, and made the dining experience terrific.

Best time at this place. You have to go and check it out.

Excellent Seafood!. I had the pleasure of dining at Captain's George Seafood restaurant on Saturday, March 13th. It was my first time going to Virginia Beach and my first time visiting Captain's George Seafood. We arrived at about 4:00 pm and the parking lot had plenty of cars in it, which turned out to be a great sign. The food is excellent, fresh, very tasty and very good to say the least. We started offf with the salad bar which stretches for days. Then we moved on to sample almost everything on the bar from the crab imperial which was my favorite, to the prime rib, to the aspargus. Moved on to the snow crab legs which were not overly cooked and sweet. Excelent restaurant and can't wait to go back. Even plan on having my birthday party there in June. Highly recommend.

Excellent Food. we had lunch buffet on valentines day,though waiting line was long, but it was worth to wait that long,the best seafood i ever had, very fresh,and variety of food to eat. also services was excellent.

Greatest Seafood Buffet. Come down to VA Beach every year with daughter for a Convention. Heard about this from others at Convention who go to George's every year on Thurs. eve. We decided to try it and boy are we hooked. Everything looks and taste very fresh! No one will go leaving hungry! Everything from soups, salads, pasta, bread, seafood galore and desserts. Plus wine & beer and other alcoholic beverages avail. Of course non alcoholic avail. too! Looking forward to my next trip. In fact going to Williamsburg in May and doing a SIDE TRIP down to VA Beach to eat! Keep up the great job!!!

need more sugarfree desserts on a regular basis. I talked so much about Capt. George to my friend that he finally took me there the day after mothers day. He enjoyed it to the utmost that he wants to go again. My thing is I am a diabetic and I would like dessert after my meal also. The waiter said that they only get on order of sugarfree cheese cake and it was gone that day. It is just Monday. Please If you guys read any of this please think of atleast one dessert that is sugarfree that will be on the menu regularly. The waiter was wonderful. Where is the lobster? Other wise it was ok to me but great to him.

Outstanding!. Listen, to each is herhis own. But if you didn't thoroughly enjoy yourself, you probably weren't at Capt. George's. We left the joint "hi fiven". In fact the next time I go (which is this spring), I'm considering bringing a wheel chair. Flat out the best seafood house I've ever been to.

capt georges resturant is still around and is it good. HELLO ALL I USED TO LIVE IN VA BEACH BACK IN 1987 AND WENT TO CAPT GEORGES ALMOST ALL THE TIME I REMEMBER THE WHOLE LOBSTER AND ALASKA KING CRAB LEGS AND RAW OYSTER BAR AND SALAD BAR, I HAVENT BEEN TO VA BEACH SINCE I MOVED TO BALTIMORE MARYLAND AND WAS THINKING ABOUT COMMING DOWN THIS SUMMER IN JUNE . I WAS WONDERING CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF CAPT GEORGES IS STILL GOOD TO EAT AT .IVE BEEN TO THE ONE IN PONGO WHICH I HEARD CLOSED THE DOORS THERE. AND I KNOW THERE WAS ONE ON FIRST COLONEL RD AND LASKIN RD AND IF I REMEMBER I THINK ONE ON LASKIN RD OR VA BEACH BLVD AT THE CORNER NEAR A RED LIGHT .
