Terrible service

My husband and I went to this restaurant Monday 8/4. We sat and ordered drinks which took a long time to be delivered. We ordered our appetizer and then noticed a party of two sat next to us. The other party apparently got our appetizer and ours came about 5-10 minutes later. The waitress took my husband's order and asked me what I would like. My husband asked what she recommended. She then asked us to wait a brief second while she delivered a check. She then walked past our table and delivered two dinners to a party of about 8. Left again and delivered two more dinners etc. She finally came to FINISH our order. My salad took a long time to be delivered as did our next drink order. My husband's dinner was dry and mine was just ok. the waitress talked us into dessert and giving one more chance, we ordered. She delivered mine. It took about 5 minutes to deliver my husbands. We spent close to 100.00 for terrible service. I called the next day and asked to speak with the manager. Carol asked me if she could help. She took all my information and said she would give it to the manager. Today is a week later. I have not heard from anyone. I called once again and someone else from the kitchen said they would have the manager call me....We are new to the area and not at all impressed.

Delicious local Italian

Searching for a nice spot to take my Italian cuisine-loving cousin on our recent visit "home," I happened upon the reviews for Zia Marie. Always up for a new experience, four of us trooped in on a Wednesday evening. We found a light crowd of diners, a wonderful atmosphere, a gracious wait staff and a delicious dining experience. Dinners at the table were Veal Piccata, Veal Saltimbocca, Pasta a la Vodka, and one of the nightly specials. All of the dinners were fantastic, with one diner commenting that she had never had shrimp cooked to such perfection. That's saying a lot for a native Beacher! Highly recommended!

Great Italian Food

A friend of mine took me to Zia Marie last weekend. The restaurant is surprisingly in a neighborhood off of Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. The food is excellent and the service was great. I had the lasagna, which might be the best lasagna I've ever had. The appetizers were great and were very traditional. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any Italian lover!

• Pros: Great food - it was like homemade Italian Food
• Cons: Somewhat small, and the tables were warped out of shape

The food and the atmosphere are always excellent. Service is prompt and nice. Prices are excellent.
