Called A-1 to come out and snake my outside drain. They were only here 10 minutes and charged me 800.00.Outrageous. I ended up calling back just to inquire the price and they said it would only be 200+ if they could get it fixed within an hour. I can't believe they overcharged me like that. I will never ever use their services again. The only reason why I called them in the first place is because they give military discount, but I see that they really don't look out for the military. To all my fellow servicemen and women, beware of this company..

Your company over charges customers. After you charged us $645.00 for a 50 minute job I checked Angie's List and found 16 complaints about how you over charge customers and the BBB no longer endorses you. How can you sleep at night knowing how you take advantage of people????

I called A1 American to fix a leaky pipe. They quoted me an outrageous price, but because my laundry room was leaking I agreed to have the work done. I didn't realize it was such a simple repair, less than one hour of work and 1 pipe replaced and I was charged $500. When I called to question the bill I was treated and rudely and my concerns were dismissed. I will never use their services again and would strongly discourage anyone else from using them.

Our outside faucet developed a leak and my husband called A-1 American for someone to come out and fix it. First the technician that came out was late. When he got here he looked at the faucet and said it needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price (way over priced I thought) and I contacted my husband and he said to go on and have the work done. The technician said he had to leave and get the part and he would be back. I waited for two hours and finally called the company. The girl on the phone said that maybe he had to stand in line, then she changed her mind and said that he was on his way back. Almost 30 minutes later he did get back. He started working on the 1/2 inch copper pipe, took him a good 15 minutes to solder the faucet onto the pipe. I was watching and the solder was just rolling off of the pipe. That's when I could smell alcohol on him. My goodness, I know what he had been doing for the over two hours he was gone. He finally finished the job. I will never recommend this company, ever, and I will never use them again. Shame on you for letting your employees drink and then try to cover for them when a customer calls to see what's taking so long for them to return. Don't just walk away from A-1 American, RUN!!!!!

A-1 American's friendly staff did a thorough and complete job with the repairs. They left a tennis ball for my dog too and he loves it! Their magnet is on my fridge for easy access.

I called A-1 because my disposal was backed up, the guy arrived first thing in the morning and the problem was solved within 30 minutes. He explained what caused the problem, was very courteous, and guaranteed his work. I am VERY satisfied! I will definitely be calling them again when I need help!
