Horrible Service. I have called several times to speak to the owner Joesph Bambery and have yet to recieve a call back from him. He never returns calls. I actually called & spoke to a Julie today and asked her a quick question about the business & she told me that she doesn't have time for this, yelled at me for calling during dinner hours and hung up on me. I am in shock.

Non-smokers should avoid this place. While there is a token non-smoking section inside the restaurant, the entire indoors is permeated with the smell of a stale ashtray. Merely walking from the front door to the patio, clothing becomes saturated to the point that nothing else is noticeable. The patio is better, but smoking is allowed. I was able to tolerate the environment only long enough for drinks to arrive, and then my group decided to leave. I've heard the food is good, but I never tasted it.

Terrible service, selection. Advice: skip this place.. O'Sullivan's is terrible. My fiance and I went out for a relaxing dinner and ended up spending about an hour and a half in the restaurant. Most of that time was spent waiting for everything except a table. Waiting for the server, drinks, to order, to get our dinner, etc. Tables that were seated after us were taken care of well before us. In the last 8 years we have never given less than 15% as tip, even for terrible service. Our server was lucky to get the 10% we gave him. Don't waste your time with the hushpuppies if you are expecting really good southern-style hushpuppies. They taste like flavorless onion rings. I had Neptune's Seafood Combination. Everything on the plate seemed to be fried in unseasoned plain flour so it all tasted the same, with the exception of the texture. My fiance had Captain Sully's Broiler Combo. She actually thought it was pretty good. The crab cake was average-nothing spectacular-definitely shouldn't be famous. Overall, we aren't going back to this place anytime soon. Go somewhere else if you want good seafood.

One of my favorites. This is unpreposessing from the street, but great once you get in. Seafood is their specialty, but they do a full range of meat and fowl, too. Pleasant atmosphere. Outdoor deck on a waterway; people can come up on their canoes or kayaks for a little lunch or refreshment. It says "A Local's Locale," and I'm happy to know about it. Good for lunch or dinner.

Great place to take the girls. This place is great for a first date. They've got a bar and typical table seating. Great ambience and plenty of things on the menu to choose from. Its a must if you live in the area. Affordable and beleive it or not, even though its 1/4 mile from the ODU campus, the college students you see in here are of the "well behaved" and fun nature.

Situated on the bank of Norfolk's Lafayette River, this local favorite serves some of the freshest seafood in town.. The Scene
Whether you're just off the boat or a native restless for a hearty meal, O'Sullivan's draws diners in throngs. The wraparound bar in the center lounge is a comfortable place to relax with a drink, and the deck offers a great view. From cutoffs and tank tops to couples dressed for the theater, anything goes in this rustic tavern.

The Food
From deep-fried shrimp to steamed clams, the seafood is fresh and pleasing. Oysters Rockafella, smothered in three cheeses, spinach, garlic and bacon, and green-lipped mussels mixed with rich, tangy, homemade marinara are two popular appetizers. Sully's broiled combo is perfect for the undecided: tender buttery scallops, flaky fish, a slightly breaded lump crab cake and two large spicy prawns fill the plate. Hand-cut steaks, like prime rib and filet mignon, are also available.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN!. O'Sullivan's offers a unique and pleasent atmosphere. The restaruant is very layed back and the place to go if you want to relax with out all the hype of your normal chains. I would rate it number 1 on this chart. I have lived here all my life and have been to the other restaruants...they can't touch O'Sullivan's.
