Not much has changed in the last forty years; let's hope nothing ever does.. The Scene:
Among the chi-chi boutiques and trendy restaurants catering to the revved-up Ghent set is a tiny structure that appears to be made from WWII surplus corrugated tin. Cheap is chic here, and both the ambiance and the decor are retro, as are the prices. The entertainment begins at 5:30am when the ladies begin to glaze the doughnuts, and it fills up fast once the sun comes up. The only seating is at the counter, but when it's full you can wait in line. It's the same story for the soup and sandwich lunches.

If you order one thing:
The donuts are worth getting up for.
