Insulting Staff- blah food.
I vistited the Azalea Inn Restaurant for the first time on Sunday. At first I thought it was a good place to come for a few beers and a game of pool, however I will NEVER go back and I suggest to others not to either.
The food was OK- I ordered a taco salad and it came out as nachos with shredded lettuce on top. Eh.
After lunch my friend and I decided to go sit at the bar for a drink. Once there the bartender- Jenny- insulting me telling me I was staring at her and I must have started drinking early since I was drunk- it was a Sunday afternoon. When I complained to another bartender about her Jenny came over and told me I was being disruptive and she was calling the police on us. (?!?!)
I got my check and left. Later in the evening I called to speak to management to let them know about the terrible service I received. The manager wouldn't even listen to my full complaint before hanging up on me!
OK food- Terrible service. Don't waste your time.

Good food but I wouldn't go back..
I've been to this resturant more than once, however I don't think I'm going back anymore. I like the game room and the food is wonderful but the staff is not so good. The typical young girl hostess looked my wife up and down critiquing her shoes with her eyes and expression upon entry into the resturant. I felt like during the meal the manager, hostess, and waitress just stood around staring and whispering about us. The calamari should have also been more for 8.75. Everything else was wonderful however even when we left we walked right past the manager who did not say "have a good day, thanks, or come again" or anything like that. Just a little rude, and not my taste of places for that reason.

Wow. We were surprised at the tab.
We are life-long Norfolk locals who have dined here often.
Tonight, however, we are reconsidering our monthly visit.
The service (as always) was friendly and quick,
but our TAB -- HOLY MOLY!
Here is what we ordered tonight:
1 pitcher of Budweiser
1 large pizza with 1/2 olives and mushrooms, and 1/2 extra cheese.
2 pepperoni on the side.
that's all.
The tab, (including a slightly less than 20% tip) =
$40.00 (no less, no more)
We know that our waitress did not make a mistake.
Seems it's just expensive!
How could a simple night out for a quick pizza and beer ad up to such a sum?

Not the same anymore.
I have been going to Azalea Inn for the past 10+ years and on my previous 4 trips to
Azalea Inn I have been VERY disappointed. I have always bragged they have the absolute best pizza in town and I cannot say that anymore. The first 2 of my bad experiences the pizza dough was raw and instead
of cooking me a new pizza they just threw it back in the oven. The 2nd time it happened I told them i wanted a freshly cooked pizza. The Manager did apologize but obviously did not mention it to the cooks as it happened again 2 weeks later. My 3rd bad experience was on a very busy Saturday night and the new waitress tried to cover for the bartenders mistakes and the manager was reluctant to fix the bill when we complained. They use to make excellent margaritas but not anymore. We ordered beer instead but they still tried to charge for the margaritas we sent back. The 4th and final bad experience was at lunchtime during the week and we took vendors in for the Best pizza around and it was awful. The pizza crust was thin, the pizza did not have a lot of cheese on it and the crust was burned. I wish the manager would get a clue instead of sitting on her customary barstool.
