Love the Blue Star. What can I say, I love this place. I know the original owner who occasionally still bakes fresh bread for the Diner. You can run into her buying the freshest food at Food Lion. Nothing is from a mix, everything is prepared on site. It is fast order grill food at its finest. Absolute Americana with the friendliest waitstaff in the business. Every weekend my daughter and I go there for the camaraderie as much as the breakfast. It is the kind of place . . .where everyone knows your name. The coffee is always fresh and the food is cooked to order fresh. It is tiny, cramped and absolute shabby chick. I couldn't be more comfortable anywhere else. This is the true classic American Diner.

She has been featured in movies and even had a brush with infamy, when the 9/11 plotters (may they suffer somewhere) actually plotted a portion of their attacks int his very diner . . .

The Blue Star Diner ROCKS!!!!. My husband I noticed The Blue Star Diner one day after a 5 mile hike, and have been hooked every since. We live in Chesapeake and we drive over to Newport News once a week just to eat there. I guess you could say we go on a date there. The food is out of this world and the prices are just right! If you enjoy days gone by then this is the place for you. Oh yeah you have to try the onion rings. My husband gets them everytime!!!!!!!
