The location is still very much there and still great!.
I don't know what the other person was talking about when they said this location is no longer there. I have been going to Whataburger for the past 45 years, dating back to when they used to be on different corners of Jefferson and Mercury Blvd., but they have been at their current location for at least 30 years. I now live an hour away but still go about once a week. I am usually very health conscious when it comes to what I eat but this weekly splurge is worth it. I have never been there when there wasn't a steady stream of people coming in because the food is great. I don't know if the food is the same as the Whataburger franchise (I don't think it is) but this Whataburger does'nt have the orange roof and the menu is simple. The building is a no frills small square building and has no place to eat inside. You walk in, go to the window, place your order and stand there and wait - usually not very long. They serve hamburgers, cheesburgers, fries, drinks (with crushed ice), milkshakes and apple pies. They have been successful with a small menu because they stick to one thing and do it very well. I have tried many times over the years to make my own Whataburger but it never is the same. They have by far the best hamburger I have ever tasted.

Family-friendly hamburger chain with fair prices, accommodating services and 1950s flair..
In Short
This chain restaurant's orange-and-white A-frame buildings dot the Southern coast, from Florida to Arizona. What's made Whataburger grow since its first burger stand opened in 1950 is its commitment to custom orders--the restaurant is happy to fill special requests, as promised in the motto "Just as you like it." The signature five-inch patties and buns--an inch larger than most other chains--have also hooked loyalists to their burgers and chicken sandwiches.
