Family-run since 1978, this local hangout asserts a homey look with some vinyl barstools and a well-worn piano.. In Short
Unlike Irish party pubs, Sarah's offers coloring books to kids, closes at 9pm and attracts a clientele that's 90 percent regulars. They come for the inexpensive home cooking, the family-like familiarity and, certainly, the 50-cent chicken dinner--an inside joke that owner Trish Proper doesn't like to spill. The beat-up keyboard gets occasional tinklers; the dart board and pool table are more popular. The menu covers Irish specialties and also includes burgers, sandwiches, and a weekend breakfast.
