Decent food. Food was decent. We got the Shrimp Udon and some sushi rolls. They have some interesting combinations. It's nice to try different things once in awhile.

Best in Virginia Beach. I've been dining at Sakura on Shore Drive for many years and think it is the best in Virginia Beach. Please don't listen to sushisweetsushi‎, the customer service has always been excellent. My favorite is the toro (fatty tuna belly) sashimi when they can get it.

Sushi among the Best. Okay for the people who want to complain about this particular restaurant, you guys haven't anything better to do than jump down someone else's throat about them serving you food?? If you want to complain about how someone else handles their own restaurant and the people who are serving YOU ( the person who is taking a break from cooking), just take things into consideration. Serisouly, every time I've been to this restaurant I have NEVER had a problem. They even gave us complimentary food. As for closing time, I completely understand where THEY are coming from. They are tired of serving people with bad attitudes and don't have any respect for people who are handling their food. Seriously just give them a break, They are just here to make a living just like you and I. The food there is great along with the customer service. They have always made sure that our drinks were always kept up to a respectable amount and not once did I have to get up and get someone's attention for service. The food has always been correct when ordering and not once have they messed an order up. This restaurant is an awesome place to go. Food is always fresh, service is awesome, and you are always welcomed when you walk through the door. I don't have a reason to complain about this restaurant or anything involving it. I would recomend it Highly.

DO NOT DINE HERE - WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!!. I've been to many sushi joints in my life including Japan as a sushi lover/expert & this place has good sushi, but the customer service kills all the good! There was one time I did get some spoiled soft shell crab in the spiderman roll which was a favorite until then. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE! I have given this place many chances without saying anything for their benefit of the doubt, but the last visit (Jan 2009) there was the last straw! I took a friend/neighbor as I usually do and we felt very rushed, it was like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us!! We had to ask for fill up's on drinks (water & iced tea)! The 2 waitresses serving us were so cold and rude it made us feel very uncomfortable to say the least! They seemed very short & rushed, but the restaurant was only about 5% full! I have received similar service there in the past, but this was the very worst of it and about the 10th time I put up with it! Needless to say they did not get big tips from us that night! They didn't really deserve them in the past either, but I still did the right thing thinking that it would get better! Also when they are getting ready to close they really rush you out so much, they do everything except physically push you out of the damn door! Usually, restaurants owned/operated by Asians are over the top in customer service and treat you so good you love to keep going back! This place is far from that and I am so over it I will not go back even though it is within walking distance from my house! I will also make sure all my friends and neighbors do not go there anymore as well! As an Italian, I know very well that the dining experience is an art that is meant to be a relaxing enjoyment as a special time to share with family and friends. I think this place needs an overhaul of new wait staff and obviously the management and owners are not doing a good job in customer service & QA!

Great time for Sushi. We have been to many of the sushi bars around town and always end back up at Sakura! They really do pride them selves on their customer service. The sushi is amazing, you normally get free samples of their specialty rolls, at one point in time, we were going about 3 times a week. I have never had a bad experience with either the food or the service! You are sure to find a Sakura near you, they have many locations.

Best Sushi in Norfolk/VA Beach Area. When I lived in VA Beach, I ate at Sakura at least once a week. The sushi is fresh and wonderful - I especially recommend trying the house Volcano roll. Their list of house specialty rolls is amazing...and all of the ones I have tried have been outstanding. Now that I live in MI I sometimes go back to visit and Sakura is always on the list for a "must go." If you like sushi and eat at one restaurant in VA Beach, this should be the one.

Outstanding. I have enjoyed sushi at most of the sushi bars in the area, and Sakura is my favorite. The selection is outstanding and the quality of the food is even better. I highly recommend trying one of their signature rolls. The only thing lacking about this place is the size. It's so small and can get somewhat cramped on a busy night. But believe me, it's worth it.
