Horrible I think also the reviews are from the owners. Some friends from out of town came up for the weekend, we decided that we were going to pick a restaurant from the restaurant. com site. We picked Tabbs because it was an easy walk over and we were in the mood for some finger lick-en good seafood. The reviews on google make it out to be a pretty good place. Very misleading....

The decor of the place needs to be updated maybe some matching dining tables and eliminating the nasty old smell you take in when you walk thru the doors. I suppose it looked like any old hole in the wall oyster bar one of my friends stated. I guess if you like that feel of decor then cool, who cares what it looks like inside as long as the food is good and the Establishment is clean. Right? Sadly the food as not good, and when I say NOT good I mean SPOILED! our entrees came and 2 of us ordered the same thing (Blackened Salmon) While my other friend ordered (The Seafood Platter). As my friend took a bite of the crab meat that was on the Salmon, he made a displeased face and told me to try my crab meat, I chewed and said what is that? The crab tasted like ammonia and smelled even worse. Same with the Seafood Platter no good. We thought maybe something leaked on the batch, so we told our waitress, she also smelled it and was very taken back my the ammonia Oder. The cooks in the back said they couldn't smell it but the restaurant kindly com-pt our meals and gave us a discount on our drinks since we had a coupon. The way they handled the situation was very professional and appreciated. As we got home to find a another place to eat, we googled the odd smell coming from the seafood. apparently when seafood is completely rotten it will smell like ammonia. We were very upset and disgusted that our food just wasn't past its due date but ROTTEN. I know a lot of older people go to this place and maybe they cant taste the foulness of the food but us young-ens did and they may just get away with serving bad food more than you know.

great family place with good food. best fried oysters i have ever eaten. great place for seafood

they now have hickory smoked,pulled pork bbq, made on premises, it's the best around in my opinion

they also have earlybird special dinners for 8.95 great!!

BEST SEAFOOD PLATTER. WE HAVE BEEN TO THIS TABBS MANY MANY TIMES, HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL NOR SERVICE , ALWAYS GREAT, AND FRIENDLY,,, WILL GO BACK, THE SEAFOOD PLATTER IS THE BEST IN TOWN
