In Response to Review by Tashlee05. I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who has taken the time to write reviews (even the negative ones). My staff and I are very passionate about what we do and our goal at Bloom is to provide the highest level of customer care and attention - this is something we take very seriously. So when you are not 100 happy then we want to know about it so we can improve. When Tara called us with her concerns, we immediately invited her into the shop. Perplexed because it is extremely unusual for flowers, especially the ones used in this instance, to turn even slightly brown so quickly we jumped into action and did some research.

The flowers had left here fresh, so fresh and beautiful in fact, Tara’s friend who came to pick them up, raved so much that we laughed and gave her a business card. In this very unfortunate case it was discovered Tara’s flowers were harmed at the reception site. With only good intentions employees at the restaurant placed the flowers in their refrigerator. As explained to Tara a restaurant refrigerator and a floral cooler are quite different with temperatures that can just freeze the flowers just enough to damage them so when the petals are introduced back into room temperature they defrost damaged, and turn brown.

We at Bloom strongly dissuade our brides from the “pick up wedding”. What is second nature to a florist is often not to the general public. We recommend, especially on such an important day as your wedding, a professional transport and set up your flowers. We have spent nine long years developing a reputation brides can rely on. Flowers are a product of unpredictable nature but we do whatever we have to do to make sure our brides and grooms are happy and well taken care of, we are committed to our brides from the moment they walk into our store until the moment they walk down the aisle our business depends on it!

brides beware, this is what happened to me. I made a contract with Patrice D. of Bloom the art of flowers for my wedding. she promised that i would love everything about my flowers, and i was really excited. when i received my mock bouquet, she told me the size of my mock bouquet would actually be the real size of my bridesmaids bouquets and that my bouquet would be much larger. the day of the wedding, the mock bouquet size was NOT the size of my bridesmaids bouquets, it was the size of my wedding day bouquet(small) and my bridesmaids bouquets were even smaller than originally promised. Patrice also added flowers into my bouquet that i told her NOT to add and i have an email from her stating that she FORGOT i told her that. Patrice added ugly leaves around my bouquet that were NOT a part of the original mock bouquet and my friend had to take my flowers to Harris teeter to fix them. When i called Patrice about this issue, she did not answer her phone. I also had ordered 8 center pieces for my reception at Mona Lisa Pizza in Norfolk. by the time my husband and i got to our reception around 6pm, ALL MY CENTERPIECES WERE DEAD AND BROWN. i have plenty of pictures for proof. my friends Glen and Courtney had picked my flowers up from Bloom at around 12pm and dropped them off at Monas at around 1230. Servers at Monas told me around 3pm, the flowers were starting to wilt and again, by the time i got there at 6, they were dead and disgusting. i was so embarrased. when i took these pictures and complaints to Patrice, she refunded me $500.00 for my troubles. i originally paid over $1000.00 for her services so i was pretty satisfied with the $500.00 refund. after depositing the check from Patrice and spending some of our money, she calls me to tell me that the flowers dying were NOT her fault and she started to blame Mona Lisas for them dying so quickly. she started to point the finger at my friends also saying there was no way they could have died that easily and that my friends had to have kept them in the car until the reception. i was really offended. she did not take responsibility for her mess up and i was really hurt and angry. She demanded that i give her her money back. what she did was she put a stop on her check and my account was then overdrawn. she then sent me a check for $200.00 saying that she would pay for the mess up with my bouquet which costs me $145.00 and the rest was for my inconvenience. 55 dollars for my INCONVENIENCE?!?! i was outraged. i will never forgive her for what she did to my husband and i. frankly, i was so embarrased about my flowers. she will never get a referral from me. i just want what is rightfully ours and that is a complete refund. im writing this because i dont want this to happen to anyone else.i am an easy going person, but patrice just saw me as dollar signs and did not care about my feelings at all. whatever, i feel bad for her because i reported her to the bbb. beware.

Patrice was so incredibly helpful and pulled off our wedding with such style and grace I am forever indebted! I could not believe the beauty, she is a true artisan! Bloom is a florist like no other!!! Our guests gasped when walking into the reception room at the beauty I will never use another florist! Patrice You rock!
