Purifying treatment. I have been getting facials for over many years, and Sumatra Salon is truly amazing. They are constantly pampering and facial massage is like no other.

will never go there again or recommend to friends or family. Since 2006 or 2007, a friend of mine had given me a gift certificate for my birthday and Christmas for a hot stone massage every year because he had deployed and it was my favorite thing. I requested John each time who is aboslutely excellent. It's too bad he wastes his tallents in an establishment such as Sumatra. For my birthday, in 2010 my daughters gave me another gift certificate for my birthday for a hot stone massage which I was so excited to use and saving for one of those days when I really wanted to pamper myself and I knew I had a year. It expired 2/17/11. I work for the govt and we had a long weekend 1/14-1/17/11. I had planned to pamper myself that weekend,but got walking pneumonia and didn't make the appt. turns out the walking pueumonia was double pulmonary embolisms and I was hospitalized for a week with 3 blood clots in my legs as well. I called several times because you can't get a massage with blood clots.And it turned out I got another blood clot ,a large one while on the blood thinners!! It is hereditary in my family. The manager I spoke to said the cerificate probably wouldn't be honored she would have to speak to Belinda the owner,and didn't return my call. I called several times to try to talk to someone in mgmt to explain my situation and was never given a name but told "I am mgmnt" Belinda Lyons is the owner and she is strict about the expration policy of gift certificates, and I explained how dangerous blood clots could be and I had been out of work for 6 months and just released for part time. I wanted to use my gift certificate, because due to the stress of not working as we do not have short term disability I could have used it, I suggested they not massage the leg that still had an existing blood clot, and the "manager" I was speaking to would not even listen to anything I had to say, she simply said she would pass it on to Belinda, took my number and that was almost 2 months ago.Obvioulsy, Belinda Lyons is not interesed in keeping existing clients or returning clients nor does she have compassion for others and their life threatening health issues provided her incompitent help even passed on the information. It's a shame that something that could have been resolved was treated in such an uncaring and unprofessional way that has left such a bad taste in my mouth, a place that was once my all time favorite, has not only become my least, but I will discourage anyone who asks me about it and suggest one of the other competitors in the area.

Best Salon & Spa in Town!. Wow! This place is excellent. My daughter recommended Sumatra to me and I am so thankful. My hair is so hard to manage and I rarely ever get a cut that I am happy with. The stylist new just what to do. She gave me a cut, style and highlights and it did wonders for my hair. It is more manageable and the highlights made all the difference in the world. The staff has always been very pleasant and helpful. I live approximately 2 1/2 hours away and it is hard to get there during normal hours. The staff there have always been gracious and stayed late to accomodate me. I recommend Sumatra to anyone looking for a professional and courteous Salon & Spa

Gorgeous Place! I Love It!. I have been getting my hair done at Sumatra for over two years and I absolutely love it! When you walk into the salon & spa you can't help but notice how beautiful it is. The staff is so friendly and they instantly make you feel welcome. I have gone blonde, brunette, and back to blonde and my color/hilites have looked amazing every time. I always get so many compliments on my hair! Tricia is the best!

I have also treated myself to several facials at Sumatra and they have been very nice and relaxing. My skin had never looked so fresh! The girl that did my facial also recommended some products to me that have worked wonders on my oily skin. I have been recommending Sumatra to all of my friends and family...and they have not been disappointed. So if you're in the market for a new salon & spa...definitely give Sumatra a try!

Upscale. Beautiful salon and spa with a very upscale feel and I love that its right there in Town Center! I've had hair and nails and they were both awesome.

Great experience!. Always looking for a new place to pamper myself, and my friend swears by Sumatra, so I went with her the other weekend. It's gorgous in there - great atmosphere. Had a great mani/pedi and my friend says the massages are amazing too. Can't wait to go back and try for myself!

Saw a few previous reviews...not sure what all this "unprofessional" stuff is about. Sounds like all of that may have been awhile back? I've been to probably a dozen salon/spas in HRVA and this was a standout, so that's all I know!

Absolutely Unprofessional. I was totally put off by Sumatra's lack of professionalism. I went there with my husband and the stylist was being inappropriate the entire time. She was saying to him all her detailed problems with her boyfriend and asking his advice, that she was going to ask if he wanted to go to a party if he wasn't married, asking him if guys in his profession CHEAT on their wives, if he has any cute friends and lastly telling him that she'll have to tell some other stylists that he's married because they'll be disappointed. Though this stylist may have been just being herself, it was totally uncalled for to be so disrespectful and unprofessional, especially knowing I was in the vicinity also and we were paying for a service.

We will not go there again.

Impress. It was last week when I came into Sumatra to recieve a sumatra package where I get the works done. My husband surpised me with a gift certificate for mothers day. When i walked in everyone was so friendly and nice asking me would I like anything to drink.Once I filled out my paperwork for my services I was taken back, the massage was so relaxing it felt as if i was in the room forever when it was only an hour, the facial was a new experiance I never had one before but was fantastic and my feet and hands have never felt so soft and new in a long time Lunch was really good I had lettue wraps from Pf changs and my hairstylist Ginny did a very great job on my hair especially how fine and damaged it is she made it look so shiney. Now the question is would i do it again absulotely, One thing I would say the decor was relaxing and whoever reads this should go check it out .
