Short on ambience but long on great food & service!.
We recently ate at the Ice House. We had never been there before but they were participating in the VA Beach Restaurant Week and the menu they offered sounded good - so we decided to give them a try. I was a bit apprehensive when we first walked in as the place was almost empty (the weather was bad - so this was probably why) and the ambience was... well... let's just say it was not exactly what I was expecting. (Fancy-schmancy, this place is definitely not)
What this restaurant lacks in ambience it sure makes up for with good, friendly service and GREAT food! We had the Lumpia and Spinach & Artichoke dip for appetizers and the St. Louis Ribs and Crab/Shrimp cakes for entrees followed by a delicious mochacino cheescake for dessert. It was all very delicious! Our waitress was very attentive and very friendly!
If you not too concerned with ambience, but are looking for good service and great food, then give this historic restaurant a try!
