Make sure to ask the nail techs for their liscence. The groupon says it doesn't include the owner and she's the only one liscenced

my favorite hiding place!!. i've been a client at Dakota M since shortly after they opened two years ago. from the first time i walked into the salon i was welcomed with "loving and caring arms"....

i am always made to feel welcome, the staff is always very friendly and helpful and make it a fun experience!!

i've learned to silence my phone and "hide" there....

pure pampering beyond imagination~ {and so much sweeter without being interrupted!!}

i never leave without feeling great and always get to laugh alot!!

i think everyone should go give it a try! after all....it's good for the soul... :)

Awesome!. I came here for the first time with a bridal party that I was in. The service was great!!!! Everyone made sure that we were taken care of. For those who had to wait for a service, were asked if they wanted wine or needed anything at all. It was such a welcoming experience. I got acrylics for the first time in years and it didn't hurt at all like i remembered from the past. Pedicure was so relaxing. I highly recommend for anyone looking to get beautified to come here! :)

DAKOTA M SALON & SPA. Dakota M is a great salon/spa. i haven't had a bad experiance there, and my nails always look fabulous ! no drills, and i leave with gorgeous nails and i have never had that sore feeling in my nails since i have been going to dakota m. i went there for a spa day with my bestfriend and i was having trouble with my skin and adrienne really helped me out and expressed concern for my skin. i would deffinatly suggest dakota m salon and spa to everyone in virginia beach. great atmosphere, good people, and amazing outcomes when it comes to their manicures, pedicures, hair, and spa treatments !

Best at the oceanfront!. Recently, went to Dakota M for the first time. I was dragged in for pedicures with my sister. I am usually the last one to take any time to relax. She got us a groupon, for both of us. The minute we walked in we were offered a glass of wine, welcomed with smiles. The pedicures were the most relaxing I have ever had! We had amazing service and have already booked facial and hair day! Lived it!

Not really into this Salon. I purchased a Groupon last year for a couple of mani/pedi's and was left feeling like I didn't matter as a customer to this salon. Silesia was the lady who did my mani/pedi and even offered me wine which was great, but she was too busy stopping every second to answer her cell phone which she kept in her bra or to talk to a friend that would come in. It was as if her personal life and family conversations meant more to her than her customers. What should have tipped me off was the first time that I was supposed to come in for my 1st appt. they called me two hours before my appointment to reschedule because they had put someone else in my spot. Which right there should have told me that I was not as important as other clients. It was not a good experience at either appt. I really was hoping for a good experience because I am looking for a salon in the Hampton Roads area to do my mani/pedi's since I just moved here about a year ago and am in need of a good salon. Well, I guess another salon will get my business from now on. I will say that I liked the work on my nails but the service is extremely horrible in regards to customer service.

Great place for a spa day with your girlfriends!. My best friend and I went to Dakota M on New Year's Eve Day for some pre-gala primping. The entire afternoon was a blast because the staff is so fun to be around yet professional. I got the best pedicure I've ever had (and I'm a spa-junkie!). The bottoms of my feet were perfectly smooth and refreshed complemented by a great nailpolish that lasted a MONTH! The facials were relaxing for both of us and after our professional makeup session we were glowing and ready for a night on the town. Not sure what the other review was talking about because the owner was fab-u-lous! I am getting married in September and am planning on taking this spa party on the road for my bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law. I know we will have a great time with the girls from Dakota as well as be beautifully made up for a fun stress-free wedding day!

Salon and Spa with excellent customer service and skill. Spent my first afternoon ever with such an amazing group of people, and by the way, while I was there, somehow they magically helped me rediscover myself. Much cheaper and way more effective than the 45 minutes you get with a counselor these days:)) My 16-year-old was given a spa day last Saturday by her bff for Christmas and they had a great day. They loved every minute and my daughter has had her nails done several times in the past at salons that specialize in nails. She has never been happier with her nails than when she came home from Dakota M. They did not use a drill, did not hurt her fingers and she was thrilled with the length and the polish they chose. I'm a nurse by profession and often find it hard to take time out to take care of myself. I don't know if any of you out there feel the same, but believe me, take the time and visit Dakota M, more than worth it!

Appointments don't really matter here.... I purchased a Groupon for this place and was thrilled at the closeness it was to my house. When I made my appt. I asked how long was required for a mani/pedi. I was told 90 min. Because of this, I said I could not make a 1:30 appt. that was offered since my chidlren needed to be picked up @3pm from school, so the receptionist gave me a 1pm appt. This time should have given me plenty of time to have my services provided.

Unfortunately, my appt. was begun 20 min. late with a different person getting me started so I wasn't sitting in the waiting area looking at my watch. This girl was very sweet, but when I asked if Carrie (the girl doing my mani/pedi) was running late, I was informed that she had a walk-in hair-cut and that was causing the delay. A what???!! HOLD ON...I have an appt and a WALK IN was given priority over me?? Not cool!

So, after soaking for 20 min by myself in the room I had to take my feet out of the water because they were totally pruney and the water was luke-warm. At 1:45 the nail tech finally comes over and begins my pedicure. Mind you, my appt. was at 1:00 and I originally told the receptionist that a 1:30 appt. was too late. She offered me wine, I think in hopes of calming the waters (which was greatly appreciated, however the stress was mounting as the clock was ticking).

The technician did a very good job with my pedicure, but by the time she was done there was only 15 minutes left for the manicure! She had to rush it because I had to leave. My "appointment" did not matter to the stylist/nail technician here for she accepted a walk-in hair cut during the time of my appointment.

Very bad first impression. Which is sad, because in the beginning while I was in the waiting room I was actually considering going to her for my next highlight/cut.
