The shop may be in a strange spot, (the middle of a stripmall) but going in will be worth it if you take the time. Gentleman Jim has been my tattoo artist for over a year now. I have a gorgeous nature themed leg sleeve that he worked on for multiple sessions. I also have a second piece on my other leg that Jim did that memorialized my grandparents. He really took the time to work on the style & aesthic that I WANTED, not 'his style' or what will boost his portfolio.

Graig Camp is the best artist at UBX INK!!! He has done 3 of my tattoos and they are phenomenal!!! I would never go to anyone else again!

Got more work done by Gentleman Jim. The man can do custom work like no other. Con't wait to drive down from DC to get more work done.

Horrible service, rude staff! Was an awesome shop a year ago. Now the artists are all different and they do not care about customers it's $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!

Worst experience I have ever had with a tattoo studio. Completely unprofessional and they don't care about their clients at all. I came in to schedule an appointment for my memorial piece for my father and they lady at the desk seemed nice enough, the artist didn't seem very thrilled but said he would gladly do the tat. They had me write down my information and when I came back the day of the tattoo and the artist canceled on me saying that he didn't have the picture so he couldn't draw anything up.. isnt that what I gave him my number for? in case he needed something for the appointment? He had a week to call and he knew it was coming up. He canceled right there and said that we would reschedule for another date and that he would call me with the date and time. 4 hours past and no call, 9 hours and then a whole 2 days... I even called back several times and they said they would call me right back and never did. The artist is obviously not confident in his ability and does not care about his clients, and he blamed the receptionists for his mistake! Needless to say I waited all week for bad service, and I would not recommend this studio to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Owner is a PERVERT!!!. I recently got a tattoo by Aaron at UBX and the owner(Jay) made me more uncomfortable than I've ever felt. Not only did he try to annoyingly flirt with me while I was filling out paperwork but he kept coming into the room where I was getting my tattoo just to watch. My tattoo is just underneath my right breast so I, obviously, had to take off my top. I was lying on my back with my top covering my breasts as much as possible. After about the third or fourth time that he came into the room I started to realize why he was coming into the room. As he walked out of the room, I heard him ask another guy if he "saw the rack on the girl Aaron is tattooing?". I was appalled and almost got up and left. It was very unprofessional and completely offensive. It wasn't until another tattoo artist came into the room that the owner stopped coming in. Aaron was great, so was the guy behind the counter but I will not be going back there ever again. I will also not be recommending the place to anyone. I'd love to have Aaron tattoo me again but only if he were at a different place or if the owner sells the business.

HAD something AWESOME and UNIQUE going,hope they get it back. My wife and I are both Military and have been getting tattooed in this area for about 5 years. We live close to the shop so we were actually there when it 1st opened. The location was great and it was clean, but unfinished in a lot of ways. They also had a lot of kids working there at first. We met the owner at the time Matt. It was weird to meet an owner of a tattoo shop that didn't have a single tattoo. My wife said it was"like a vegetarian running a steak house" :) We got tattooed by Dre and Jason and were blown away by the quality of work, and their down to earth personalities. On my second trip The place had changed COMPLETELY. It was so nice on the inside, they had two awesome KNOWLEDGEABLE counter girls and the customer service was the BEST we EVER had. On this trip we met the other owner Jay. He took time to walk us around the shop and show us all the changes he had made, the new artists he'd hired and actually made us feel important. The shop looked amazing. He turned us over to Heather and Ashley and they took such good care of us. Heather has actually kept in touch with us and has taken care of 7 of our friends who have been pierced/tattooed there. The atmosphere was awesome in there and it felt like you were with friends that just happened to be amazing artists. Just recently I was in with one of my junior guys off the boat. The place still looks great, but they have lost some things that made this place DIFFERENT. The counter girls were changing shifts Kim and a different Ashley from before. Niether of them were knowledgeable at all. They also never came from behind that desk. The other girls would come out and talk to you, and if you've met Jay, you already know he greets everyone like an old friend. The overall atmosphere was different, not in a good way. My buddy was getting a grim reaper piece by Jason and didn't finish in one sitting (normal for bigger pieces). When we went in we were told he needed a reciept and that it had to be approved by that guy Matt. Jason came out an apologized and Jay had came in and went over things with us about this new policy. Being that we're military our schedules are tight sometimes so when all was said and done we ended up having to call Matt. This whole thing was just ridiculous. I've been getting tattooed for over 20 years, over 5 in this area, and have never seen something like that. I felt like we were getting jerked around and in the end he finished the tattoo anyway! All the other stuff with the "NEW POLICY" was uneccessary and just put a bad taste in his mouth. This place was on its way to greatness. There are plenty of talented artists in thius area, not too many places that treat you right. I'm not sure whats the deal, but you guys need to get it back together. I gave 4 stars because I still think the place is awesome. The artists are talented, Jay is one of the most approachable owners I've ever met, and Heather has always gone out of her way to take care of us, but the place is slipping. Don't mess with a GOOD thing. See you guys when I get back in JUNE!

Great Service. I had a coupon for 15.00 for tongue ring and jewlery that I recieved from a guy named marcus in the ubx shop in the mall itself. I won't lie I was scared out of my mind to get it done. But when I went that morning, I was greeted with the upmost respect. I paid for the tongue ring piercing and they took me back to the room. I watched them take everything out of the packages, put on gloves, and was given a soluble to swish around in my mouth. He explained everything step my step before he peirced my tongue. After it was done, it wasn't so bad. Just a slight pinch. He explained in deep detail of how I need to take care of it, and when to take it out to replace a new ring. Very professional and I would most certainly get another peircing at UBX.
