A Permanent Solution for Unwanted HairElectrolysis is currently the only method of permanent hair removal. It was discovered by a physician and has been successfully used for over a hundred years. During the electrolysis procedure, a sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle. A small account of energy is then released via the probe into the follicle to destroy the papilla, which is the source of growth, electrolysis is for everyone. It is effective on all skin colors and all hair colors. Any texture of hair can be treated, including very fine hair and heavy, coarse hairs, since hair grows in cycles of four to six weeks or longer, not all hair is visible at any given time. It is therefore necessary to have regular treatments. This will clear hair that has not been treated as well as any regrowth that may occur. Hair that regrows is usually finer in texture and lighter than the original.
Before Your SessionPrior to treatment the hair needs to be just above the skin line. Do not cut, shave or use a depilatory for 24 hours prior to your treatment. Tweezing and waxing should not be done since they are counterproductive to successful permanency.
After Your SessionThe treated are should be washed with a mild, oil-free cleanser. Follow with witch hazel, peroxide or other skin antiseptic. A cold compress or ice may be applied to treated area to reduce any swelling, if necessary, if any scabs appear following your treatment, tell your electrologist about them at your next treatment. Do not pick them off which could interrupt the healing process.
