Just Don't Expect High Quality -It's like a really big 'Budget Inn'
by TheWeekender at Citysearch
My husband and I just spent a weekend at this hotel a couple of weeks ago. We were able to save money vs. going to the Sheraton or nearby Marriot. He didn't think this hotel was worth the 50 bucks we saved. This place was not a nightmare- the staff was friendly, and the actual hotel room appeared to be clean. But the carpet was old looking and THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB WAS NASTY. It looked like it was dirty, I didn't take a shower the next morning. Figured I may as well keep my own dirt rather than stand on someone else's. If I were to describe this hotel in one word it would be "Dingy". They claimed to have a business office, but there was no computer in the 'business office'. So, the staff allowed us to use an office computer, which was very nice of them...We needed to print our tickets for a show that evening. The gym can hardly be called a gym- just a few old machines that look like they got them at a yard sale. This hotel just doen't make you feel all warm and cozy on the inside, but if you need a place to stay and don't want to spend more than $100.00 it's not the worst place. Oh, yeah- the hotel is right down the street from the 'nice block', but do not be misled- it's right on the 'shabby block'. Some really rough project looking apartments are across the street from it. The Sleep Number beds were nice, but we wouldn't stay at this hotel again. Just not comfortable with it. We didn't order any room service for fear of what was going on in the kitchen. I guess it depends on what type of hotels you are used to staying on...I usually stay at Marriots or The Sheraton. This was no where near that caliber.
- Pros: Friendly helpful staff
- Cons: Old looking hotel & bottom of tub looked nasty

Best Value in Downtown Norfolk

The Norfolk Radisson is a good, quality hotel with new improvements constantly that i can see. Their prices are far better than the hotels just a few blocks away on the water. Who wants to pay 50-75 bucks more just to see water?
- Pros: Quality w/ good price, free parking, close to Granby St.
